Grenoble Information

Getting to Grenoble

  • Train: regularly scheduled high-speed trains (TGV) arrive from Paris and several other cities;
  • Bus: regional (Tranisère) and international (Eurolines) buses as well as shuttles from Lyon and Geneva airports arrive and departure from central bus station (gare routière) that is very next to central train station;
  • Plane:

Lyon Saint-Exupery airport is only 1 hour by a regular shuttle. It is recommended to book a one-way or return shuttle tickets on Faure Vercors website even so you can also buy tickets on its airport desk (level 1 of terminal 1);

Geneva-Cointrin airport is about 2 hours and 15 min by a shuttle. You can book tickets on Aerocar website.

  • Road:

From Chambéry or Geneva via freeway A41: take the "Rocade Sud" (South loop) towards "Lyon par l’autoroute" (Lyon via freeway). Exit at Europole and follow the "Polygone scientifique" (Scientific campus) signs (Exit n°2);

From Lyon, Valence, or Marseille via freeway A48: take exit n°16 and follow "Polygone scientifique" (Scientific campus). 

 

La Bastille

"La Bastille" is a small fortified mountain located at the crossroad of three valleys, served by the first urban cable-car in the world. There you will discover the flattest town in France in its mountain setting! When the sunsets and the lights go down in the city, the view is outstanding. Tramway lines A or B, station "Victor Hugo".

Grenoble Museum

With its collections of ancient, modern and contemporary art, the Musée de Grenoble offers you a chance to traverse the history of western painting from the 13th to the 20th centuries. Included are major masterpieces of classical Flemish, Dutch, Italian and Spanish painting; one of 20th century Europe’s richest collections. Tramway line B, station "Notre Dame Musée".
